From the Reykjavik Foremen's Association to Brú

Brú Managers' Association was founded on March 3, 1919, in the K.F.U.M. building, then under the name Reykjavik Foremen's Association. The association therefore has a history spanning over a century. At the founding meeting, 22 men attended, all of whom became the founders of the association. It was established around the advocacy of foremen and has from the beginning aimed to protect the rights, conditions, and welfare of its members.

In 2022, the Hafnarfjörður Foremen's Association merged with Brú, that association had been founded in 1940.

With the merger, the association became even stronger and its service role for managers in the capital area became broader.

Today, Brú is a trade union for managers and leaders in the capital area. The association focuses on strong and personal service, good collective agreements, health and education funds, as well as a variety of nice vacation houses.

The association owns 8 well-equipped summer house, located in the Highlands of Akureyri, Kerhraun in Grímsnes, and by Skorradalsvatn.
